Open Hips, Calm Mind with Gretchen Donovan
Saturday, October 5, 2019
There are so many reasons why “hip openers” are popular in yoga classes. However, it’s a tired phrase that suggests a pursuit of moving deeper, stretching beyond range of motion for the sake of increasing hip flexibility. It’s true that supple hips can ease back pain, give you a more agile gait, and even improve circulation in your legs. Let’s look beyond the obvious.
We hold stress, negative emotions such as fear, guilt, and sadness in the pelvis. This workshop will allow us to explore our hips through gentle fluid movement, supine poses, seated twists, and classical asana using the wall as a prop.
