Kristy Laliotis

“the practice for me means coming home” –Kristy

The first time Kristy took a yoga class, it felt like coming home. Kristy has been passionate about yoga ever since. She recognizes that, in the western world, most people come to yoga for the physical aspect; however, they keep coming back due to the spiritual awakening that begins to unfold.

Kristy has been practicing daily since the late 1990’s and then began teaching in 2009. She started her training in the Ashtanga tradition, then moved to the Anusara system. She has studied extensively with Geri Portnoy, Desiree Rumbaugh, John Friend, and Noah Maze. Currently, she is studying with Gretchen Donovan in the Iyengar and Prajna system. Her teaching style borrows from all these traditions.

Kristy believes many people go through life with a disconnect between the head and the rest of the body. Yoga offers an opportunity to reconnect those two pieces and rediscover the spirit in the process. Through her own practice, Kristy has cultivated a deeper understanding of herself and the collective human experience. She is passionate about yoga and believes the practice should be joyful, inspiring and playful.

“I was struck by how accepting and even inviting yoga instructors are, from the first class I felt I was part of the group. “

“Yoga has provided a foundation for me to approach life in a positive, balanced, healthy way. It’s my rock!“
